( Vancouver , BC ) – Studio B is pleased to announce a new development deal for a 26 x 22 minute children’s animated series. In conjunction with Family Channel, Studio B will bring one of the longest running and most popular comic strips to life – ANNIE ® , the honest, brave, true and spunky red head that has captured hearts around the world with her spirit and sense of adventure.

Created for 8 – 12 year olds, Annie has outgrown her trademark red dress, but she’s still tackling the troubles of the world, and fighting the most mysterious masterminds and clever criminals.

ANNIE is an exciting new action-adventure series.  It’s high-octane storytelling with a keen sense of humour and a gleam in its eye, in the grand tradition of Indiana Jones and James Bond. It’s driven by the unquenchable spirit of Annie herself, as she matches wits against the most notorious arch-villains in the world’s most exotic high-spots … and in its darkest nooks and crannies.

‘Taking our cue from the Tribune comic strip, Annie is all grown up and is now the most happening and exciting 13 year old girl any kid can imagine’, says Chris Bartleman. ‘Annie travels the world with her friends and is exposed to the most mischievous and unusual characters. The series will be Executive produced with The Mischel Company and Goodman/Rosen Productions. Tribune Media Services Inc. is the worldwide merchandising agent for the series.

Studio B is an award-winning animation production studio that has produced over 150 half hours of original programming including Yvon of the Yukon, What About Mimi?, D'Myna Leagues, Something Else and Yakkity Yak which currently air in over 22 countries around the world. The studio is currently in production on 26 x 22 episodes of Being Ian for YTV.
