Chris was born in Toronto and raised in neighboring Cambridge, Ontario. He graduated from Sheridan College’s Classical Animation Program in 1982. He first worked as an assistant animator for Northern Animation on a variety of Hanna-Barbera productions. He also worked with various ad agencies, doing design work and storyboards.

Chris moved to Vancouver in 1984, where he did storyboards for over 450 live action commercials, various series such as “X-Files” and “Wise Guy”, and for feature films such as “Look Who’s Talking,” “Cadence,” and “Needful Things.” He also art directed on various live-action and animated commercials, on TV specials such as “Value Tales,” and established a good client base in the ad agency field. He met partner Blair Peters while doing layouts on series including “Care Bears,” “Babar,” and “Beetlejuice.”

In 1988, Chris joined forces with Blair Peters to create Studio B. The two started off doing animated commercials, Sesame Street shorts and layout and storyboard work on series production. As the studio grew, Chris developed key relationships with clients such as Nickelodeon (“CatDog,” “Angry Beavers”) and SONY Wonder (“Little Witch,” “Santa Mouse”). He also oversaw production for all service work the company was doing while his partner focused on developing the Studio’s proprietary titles, including “What About Mimi?” which Chris co-created.

Chris lives in North Vancouver and has two children. While he logs substantial airmiles overseeing the Studio’s animation projects in Asia and attending TV production conferences, he logs even more roadmiles as chauffeur to soccer, baseball and dance classes.
